2024 Scrimshaw & Nautical Antiques Weekend

33rd Scrimshaw & Nautical Antiques Weekend
including the 12th Scrimshaw & Nautical Antiques Show
10-11-12 May 2024 in New Bedford
at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott

Presented by the Antique Scrimshaw Collectors Association
This May, enthusiasts, collectors, and armchair maritime historians will gather in New Bedford to enjoy a unique Maritime Weekend, devoted to nautical antiques, scrimshaw, and folk art.  The event (first held in 1989) is celebrated for informative presentations, festive meals, auction previews, and after-hours camaraderie, and for bringing together people from all across the nation (and often a few from abroad) to share a mutual interest in our deeply held legacy of sailor arts and nautical lore.  The Nautical Antiques Show (one of the world’s few remaining markets for authentic antique scrimshaw) is always of keen interest, the presentations by specialist speakers address a broad spectrum of artworks and artifacts, and a Sunday field trip will provide an opportunity to view the foremost private collection of 17th and 18th century ship models.
